Dawn Gorman believes poetry should be everywhere - puts it on beermats,
uses it to
work with people with memory loss, facilitates writing workshops,
organises poetry
events and runs international poetry competitions. She is
widely published, and has
performed in New York, Paris, London - and lots of
smaller places in between.
“Poetry isn't a profession, it's a way of life. It's an empty basket;
you put
your life into it and make something out of that.”
Mary Oliver
Guest Poet: Hilda Sheehan
Funny, surreal, and full of joie de vivre, Hilda Sheehan presents what poet William Bedford describes as "a perfectly pitched, hilarious and disturbingly accurate picture of the way we live." She is, he says, "Like a firework set off in the heart of the culture's kitchen". Hear her, and never see life in quite the same way again.
Editor of Domestic Cherry magazine and Amaryllis poetry blog, whose first collection, The Night My Sister Went to Hollywood was published by Cultured Llama Press in 2013.
